David and I were friends and classmates since the 5th grade. We were members of the Moncia Park Christian Church and were in the Boy Scout troop there. We enjoyed camping, history and collecting jokes. One of his favorite stories was the time I put a can of Vienna Sausages in the coals of a fire and it exploded.
I introduced David to his future wife Karen (Drinkard) Hill (GHS '64) who played a flute in the GHS band. They were married while attending North Texas State University.
